By accessing or using generatorassociates.com (the “site”) you agree to these Terms of use. If you do not agree, please leave the site. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Effective from” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms where permitted by law.
2. Who we are and what we publish
Generator Associates publishes editorial rankings, notes and related information about live poker tournaments and club events in New Zealand. Scores, labels such as “Editor’s pick” and comparative language are opinions based on our review criteria. They are not guarantees of seat availability, prize pools, schedule stability or your personal experience at a venue.
We may revise rankings, remove events or update copy when schedules change, organiser pages disappear or our criteria evolve. Publication of an event does not mean we endorse every commercial practice of the organiser.
3. Not a gambling operator
Generator Associates does not accept wagers, take deposits, hold player funds, deal cards or operate poker tables. Linked tournaments and club nights are run by third parties under their own licences, house rules and membership requirements.
Nothing on this site is an invitation to gamble beyond what the law allows at the destination venue. If you need support around gambling harm in New Zealand, contact the Gambling Helpline on 0800 654 655.
4. Partner and affiliate links
Some outbound links may be sponsored, affiliate or referral relationships. We may earn a commission if you click through and later enquire, register or book with a partner. Commissions help keep the editorial desk online. They do not purchase ranking positions and they do not require us to publish a favourable score.
Where a link uses a redirect page on our domain, that page exists to route you to the organiser. The destination remains a third-party site with its own terms.
5. No professional advice
Content on the site is general information for people researching live poker events in New Zealand. It is not legal, financial, tax, immigration or gambling advice. Always confirm dates, buy-ins, membership rules and age restrictions with the organiser before you travel or pay.
6. Acceptable use
You may browse the site, share links to our pages and quote short excerpts with clear attribution to Generator Associates. You may not:
- scrape, crawl or harvest the site in a way that degrades service or copies substantial content for a competing product;
- misrepresent our scores, invent fake Generator Associates endorsements or alter screenshots to deceive others;
- attempt to probe, disrupt or bypass security controls;
- use the contact form to send spam, malware, unlawful content or abusive messages; or
- use automated tools to generate artificial traffic for commercial gain.
We may block access, ignore abusive correspondence or take other reasonable steps if we believe these rules have been broken.
7. Intellectual property
Site design, original text, compilation of the shortlist and Generator Associates branding are protected by copyright and related rights owned by us or our licensors. Event names, venue names, logos and images belonging to organisers remain their property and are mentioned for identification and commentary.
You may not copy substantial portions of our reviews or recreate our ranking structure as your own product without prior written permission.
8. Contact form
If you send a message through the contact form, you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you are not submitting unlawful, defamatory or abusive content. We may keep correspondence as described in the Privacy policy. Sending a message does not create a client relationship or oblige us to feature an event.
9. Third-party sites and availability
Links to organiser pages, Eventfinda listings, casino schedules and similar destinations are provided for convenience. Those sites have their own terms, privacy practices and availability. We are not responsible for their content, downtime, booking systems, membership gates or changes to published schedules.
The site itself is provided on an “as available” basis. We work to keep pages online and information current, but we do not warrant uninterrupted access, error-free content or that a listed event will proceed as advertised by the organiser.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, Generator Associates is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the site or reliance on rankings, including travel costs, missed registrations or disappointment with a venue experience.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other non-excludable New Zealand law, where those protections apply to you as a consumer.
11. Age and venue rules
Many venues linked from this site require patrons to be 18+ or 20+ and may require membership cards or photo ID. Those rules are set by the venue or organiser. You are responsible for checking and meeting them before you attend.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Subject to any non-excludable consumer rights, New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms or use of the site.
